Rural residents' per capita disposable income up 6.3% - Chinese report

On the 25th, the Information Office of the State Council of China announced the results of strengthening rural reform and steadily promoting the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, with rural residents' per capita disposable income increasing by 6.3%.
Achieved stable increases in production of food and important agricultural products. Annual food production reached a new record high, and soybean production, in particular, remained at over 20 million tons. The supply of various agricultural products was deemed sufficient.
The results of poverty alleviation efforts in rural areas are continuing to appear. In 2024, the disposable income per rural resident will be 23,119 formers (approximately 480,000 yen), up 6.3% from the previous year.
The ratio of income between the elderly and rural residents has been reduced to 2.34:1. In addition, the improvement of living conditions in rural areas has been promoted. The filling of the gaps in infrastructure and public services in rural areas has been accelerated, and the construction of rural roads has been improved.
130,000 kilometers of pipes have been newly installed or renovated. The coverage rate of tap water in rural areas has reached 94%, and the coverage rate of home delivery service has exceeded 95%.
