Three Chinese nationals arrested on suspicion of murder while exchanging virtual currency in South Korea
Three Chinese nationals have been arrested after robbing and killing a man during a cryptocurrency exchange transaction in a hotel room in Jeju, South Korea.
On the 27th, the Jeju District Court indicted two Chinese women in their 30s, A and B, and a Chinese man in his 30s.
After conducting a pre-arrest interrogation (substantive warrant review) of Mr. C, an arrest warrant was issued. The court explained the reason for issuing the arrest warrant, citing the risk of evidence destruction and flight.
The two conspired to steal 85 million won (approximately 8.78 million yen) from a Chinese man in his 30s, Mr. D, during a virtual currency exchange transaction in a hotel room in Jeju City at around 2:40 pm on the 24th of this month.
He is suspected of stabbing the victim to death with a weapon he had prepared in advance (robbery-murder).
