BTS' JIMIN's ”Who” becomes the fastest K-POP song to reach 1.5 billion plays on Spotify
JIMIN of BTS has demonstrated his overwhelming presence as the king of streaming on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
According to a Spotify update on February 28, the title track "Who" from JIMIN's second solo album "MUSE" has surpassed 1.5 billion plays.
This record was achieved 223 days after its release on July 19, 2024, making it the shortest record for any song by a K-POP artist and the fifth shortest on Spotify.
It is a record for a long period of time. They have maintained their popularity for over seven months without any collaborations with famous overseas singers, promotions, or official activities, but they have been ranked #1 on Spotify for over 10 years.
"Who," which set a new record for K-POP, ranked 10th on the Spotify Global Daily Chart on February 26th with 4,229,022 plays. This marks the 223rd consecutive day that the song has been played.
On January 20, JIMIN's "Who" became the first song by a K-pop artist to top the Spotify Global Daily Top Songs Chart.
The song set a new record by spending 160 days in the top 10, and reached No. 10 again on the chart on the 26th, breaking the previous record of 167 days.
JIMIN's "Who" has surpassed 1.03 million searches on the global music search site Shazam, becoming Korea's largest music streaming site.
The song has been played over 36 million times on the music streaming platform Melon, and is gaining widespread popularity on various music platforms both in Japan and abroad.
In addition, JIMIN's "Who" surpassed 1,328,110,000 plays on January 15th, breaking the previous record for the most played K-pop solo song on Spotify.
