China is the EU's largest import partner, accounting for 21.3% of total imports, while it is the third largest export partner, accounting for 8.3% of total exports.
In 2024, the EU's exports to China were 213.3 billion euros (about 34 trillion yen) and imports were 517.8 billion euros (about 82 trillion yen), resulting in a deficit of 304.5 billion euros (about 48 trillion yen).
In the same year, the top product imported by the EU from China was electrical equipment and parts, worth 96.8 billion euros (about 15 trillion yen). Second was telecommunications and audio equipment, worth 60.9 billion euros (about 9.7 trillion yen).
In third place was office equipment and data processing equipment with a value of 45.9 billion euros (approximately 7.3 trillion yen).
