Syringe found at scene of death of late singer Whee Sung... Autopsy conducted today (12th) at forensic lab in Korea
Police have requested an autopsy on singer Whee Sung, who died in South Korea on the 10th of this month, to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
On the 11th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced the exact cause and time of Whee Sung's death.
Whee Sung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at around 6:29 pm the previous day in her apartment in Gwangjin-gu and was declared dead.
When he was found, there were syringes around him. There were no signs of intrusion from outside, and no suspicion of foul play has been found to date.
The National Institute of Scientific Investigation plans to perform an autopsy on Whee Sung's body on the 12th to determine the exact cause of death, including whether drugs were administered.
"We cannot disclose the status of the investigation, which is currently underway." The family will carry out the cremation process immediately after an autopsy is performed.
Management office TAJO Entertainment said, "We apologize to the bereaved families for this sudden and tragic news.
"Due to the great shock and grief, we have not yet been able to proceed with funeral arrangements," the statement said, adding, "In accordance with the wishes of the family, the funeral will be held quietly with only family, relatives and acquaintances in attendance."
Whee Sung collapsed after taking a sleeping anesthetic in 2020 and was investigated by police for allegedly habitually using propofol (violating the Narcotics Control Act).
He was tried and given a suspended prison sentence the following year.
