LX Pantos acquires U.S. logistics company to expand market in key transportation areas - Korean media
Logistics company LX Pantos has signed an agreement to acquire a logistics center located northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
The property acquired is a logistics center with two buildings on a site of 304,769 square meters.
The acquisition price was about 170 billion won (about 17,179,160,000 yen). The investment was made jointly by the company and the Korea Maritime Development Corporation.
This is part of the "Global Hub Port Development Strategy," a policy that supports Korean logistics companies to operate their own logistics centers overseas.
LX Pantos will utilize the logistics center to provide services to clients doing business locally, including LG Electronics, as well as to Korean and international companies.
The plan is to attract new customers by targeting manufacturing companies operating around the world. In fact, there are about 140 Korean manufacturers of automobiles, secondary batteries, and other products in the area centered on Georgia.
The company said that its clients are expanding into the state. In addition, the state is a growing logistics hub with ports, railways, and airports. The company has been focusing on the U.S. market and actively expanding its business.
In February, the company established a joint venture called Boxlinks with Ocean Network Express (ONE), a container shipping company funded by three Japanese shipping companies, and is now operating an Intermodal
The company had entered the global transportation market.
