Democratic Party floor leader Park Chan-dae: ”Delaying justice is sympathizing with injustice” (South Korea)
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 12th, "The Constitutional Court must quickly issue a ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol. We must not postpone justice."
"To support injustice is to join forces with injustice," he said.
"89 days have passed since the ruling. The longer the verdict is delayed, the greater the chaos in national politics will become, and the more anxiety and conflict the people will feel," he said. The Democratic Party of Korea has said it will hold talks with the National Assembly from this day until the announcement of the verdict in the impeachment trial of President Yoon.
They plan to continue the march to Gwanghwamun. "Impeaching President Yoon is to protect the Democratic Republic, and President Yoon's return is the way to impeach the Democratic Republic. Starting today,
We will continue our righteous march from the National Assembly to Gwanghwamun, calling for the immediate removal of Yoon Seok-yeo, the mastermind of the rebellion. Our march is a struggle to protect the democracy of the Republic of Korea, and to oppose the unjust power that has trampled on the Constitution.
"This is a harsh judgment against power," he emphasized. "The people have ordered us to do what is right and put an end to dictatorship. We will obey this order and win for sure. President Yoon is a man who has broken the Constitution.
"They have deceived the people and trampled on democracy. They have made the prosecution a servant of power and taken control of the media to oppress people who oppose them," he said.
He added, "Someone who wields the power entrusted to him by the people as if it were a dictatorial sword should not remain in the presidency even for a moment. Every minute and every second he is there is important.
It is a disgrace to the Republic of Korea and an insult to the people," he said. He also called on the Constitutional Court to make a swift decision, saying, "I hope that the Constitutional Court will make it clear that the Republic of Korea is a democratic republic with a swift and decisive decision."
"We are marching with the firm belief that common sense will prevail over justice. Our march today is the Democratic Party's determination to protect constitutional order and democracy," Park added.
It was a firm declaration of intent. On the night of the civil war on December 3, with a sense of urgency that went beyond the boundaries of the Diet, we declared with determination, "We will not take even one step back until the masterminds of the civil war are removed from office and the civil war is completely put to an end."
I made up my mind.
