「aespa」、日本でもグローバルヒットメーカーぶりを立証
”aespa” proves its global hit status in Japan
Korean girl group "aespa" has been recognized as a "global hit maker" in Japan as well. On the 12th, the Recording Industry Association of Japan announced that they had won the 39th Japan Gold Disc Award.
According to the list of winners of the Grand Prize, "aespa" won in the "New artist of the year" and "Best 3 new artists" categories.
Aespa made their official debut in Japan on July 3rd last year with the single "Hot Mess," and has since held two arena tours and the Tokyo Dome for two consecutive years, the first time in history that a foreign female artist has done so.
They proved their immense popularity by selling out all the seats at their concerts. Last year, they released the double title tracks of their first full album, "Supernova" and "Armageddon", and their fifth mini album, "Supernova" and "Armageddon".
With the album "Whiplash," she recorded three consecutive mega-hits, and was nominated for the "Billboard's Women in Music Awards" in the US as well as at various music awards ceremonies in Korea.
Following their win of the Group of the Year award at the "Music 2025" event, they also took home the trophy at this year's "Japan Gold Disc Awards," completing a global "award relay."
"aespa" will hold "SUMMER SONIC", a large-scale urban music festival in Japan that attracts more than 200,000 people every year in August.
They will also participate in the Tokyo performance of "2025" and become the highlight of the festival with their unique performance and "iron flavor" music color.
This is a promising opportunity and expectations are high.
