”Due to financial difficulties, he is working part-time at Coupang and a convenience store”...Former National Assembly member overcomes difficulties = Korean media
Kim Eun Heeformer, a former tennis player and proportional representative member of the National Assembly from the ruling People's Power Party, shared her recent situation of overcoming financial difficulties by working part-time at Coupang and a convenience store.
On the 13th, Kim former wrote on his blog, "It took a lot of courage and time to write this."
Kim will be the first to announce that Heo Eun-ah, a proportional representative for the People's Power Party, will join the New Reform Party on January 5, 2024.
Kim served as a member of the National Assembly for 146 days until May 29 of the same year. However, after Kim's short term as a member of the National Assembly ended, he returned to his main job.
When he returned to tennis coaching, he faced a trial. Rep. Kim said, "I finished my term as a member of the National Assembly in May last year and returned to tennis coaching in June. However, I was unable to run for the People Power Party at the party convention in July.
"The business situation of the tennis practice center deteriorated further, and by the time I was able to properly grasp the financial situation, it was already impossible to operate," he said.
In the end, Rep. Kim started working part-time jobs day and night. Rep. Kim said, "I was suffering from insomnia due to worries and anxiety about the unfavorable financial situation, and if I was going to stay up all night without getting any sleep anyway, I might as well do it at that time.
"I wanted to earn some money so I looked for part-time jobs working late at night," he said, recalling, "I persevered, working part-time at convenience stores and Coupang late at night when I didn't have lessons."
He continued, "During that kind of lifestyle, I couldn't sleep for more than 30 hours two or three days a week, and at my worst, I couldn't sleep for 84 hours."
I was a little worried about what I would do if I ran into someone I knew while working part-time at a local billiards parlor, but one day I met the owner of a local billiards parlor and we had a casual conversation. After the owner left, I went out by myself.
"There were times when I cried for a long time," she said. She added, "The title of former member of the National Assembly was too heavy for me at that time."
Rep. Kim said, "I have been able to work hard thanks to the people who have supported me and the trust of my family.
"The business situation at the tennis practice center has improved to the point where I can no longer work part-time on weekdays," he said. "People who put in a lot of effort and work hard for a better future deserve greater compensation and opportunities."
"People in vulnerable situations must be given a helping hand, and the state and all its citizens must extend a warm hand to those in vulnerable situations."
