The family of the late Kim Sae Ron is suing a YouTuber who posted a video that mentioned the deceased several times.
On the 17th, representative lawyer Boo Ji-seok of Youtube is planning to file a complaint against YouTuber A for defamation of the late Kim Sae Ron.
He also said that he will hold a press conference for the media at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency at 2 p.m. prior to the filing of the complaint.
Attorney Boo Ji-seok of the law firm Buyu said, "We met with the representatives of the bereaved families and will hold a press conference at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to announce the reasons for the lawsuit against the YouTuber.
Prior to this, the YouTuber had posted videos covering the deceased's recent activities over the past three years. In particular, he posted photos taken with Kim Soohyeon.
The reason for this is speculated to be, "It appears that she was trying to share a photo she took with popular actress Kim Soohyeon with her acquaintances," and in regards to the fact that the deceased was working part-time at a cafe, he said, "She was working part-time.
He also said that after the drunk driving incident, she attended drinking parties. The father of the late Kim Sae Ron said that after his daughter saw the video, she attempted suicide six times in one day.
The YouTuber said, "I thought I had to clear up all the misunderstandings and let the public know," and added, "I was persuaded by Kim Soohyeon to do this.
"The malicious and one-sided allegation that I used footage of Sae Ron is completely groundless," he said. He continued, "I contacted the family after Kim Sae Ron's funeral. I have offered a moral apology.
I wanted to apologize to the bereaved family, but I couldn't attend the funeral, so I wanted to express my condolences."
The YouTuber said, "I will follow legal action. It will take time to see results.
"However, we will make the matter clear and transparent through investigative authorities," he said, adding, "If there are allegations, we will not shy away from the investigation and will sincerely undergo it and make the results public."
