As the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol drags on, impeachment rallies are intensifying, with a National Assembly member who was holding a press conference in front of the Constitutional Court being attacked with a raw egg.
On the 20th, Rep. Baek Hyeri-young of the opposition Democratic Party of Korea held a one-man demonstration in front of the Constitutional Court, where she was in a hurry to sue President Yoon.
During a press conference urging a speedy impeachment hearing, a raw egg was thrown at him by a person believed to be a supporter of President Yoon. Not only Rep. Baek, but other Democratic Party lawmakers nearby also threw raw eggs, bananas, etc.
"This should not happen in a democratic society," Rep. Baek said, "I hope that the culprit is found."
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has launched an investigation into the case by forming a special investigation team led by the chief of the criminal investigation division at Jongno Police Station.

Police also began taking action against a rally held in front of the Constitutional Court under the pretext of a one-man demonstration.
In the morning, one-man demonstrators stormed in front of the Constitutional Court, causing a commotion. Police sent in riot police, saying, "This is going beyond the scope of a one-man demonstration, with people throwing raw eggs and bananas. This is an illegal assembly, so move them all away."
Police mobilized forces to disperse about 50 people. On the afternoon of the 20th, police also attempted to disperse people who had set up tents and were staging a sit-in in front of the Constitutional Court. Some of the rally participants fought with the police and resisted.
As the impeachment trial drags on, the fasting protests by pro- and anti-impeachment groups are also getting longer. Yoon Kyung-sook and Kim Young-ji, who are continuing their fasting protest in front of the Constitutional Court to protest against impeachment, have been fasting for 1 hour.
