6-month-old baby girl suffers skull fracture...Police investigating in South Korea
Police have launched an investigation into the case of a 6-month-old baby girl in Incheon, where she suffered a skull fracture. On the 24th, police said that the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Youth Crime Investigation Division had filed a lawsuit in accordance with the Child Welfare Act.
The girl's mother, A, in her 20s, and her father, B, in his 30s, have been charged with child abuse and are currently under investigation. Suspects A and B are accused of abusing a 6-month-old baby girl, C, in Bucheon-gu, Incheon City on the 21st of this month.
He is accused of not taking proper care of C-chan, causing her head injury. At the time, suspect A took C-chan to the hospital for treatment, but the doctor who examined her reported the incident to the police, suspecting child abuse.
Suspect A reportedly told the police that "the child rolled over on the floor alone and was injured." The police said they had not been charged with child abuse because they had not been investigated and therefore did not report the injury to the mother or child.
No isolation measures have been taken.
