Samsung's installment purchase service for home appliances is popular, with AI diagnosis and expert care well received (Korea)
Samsung Electronics' home appliance subscription service, "AI Subscription Club," recorded sales of more than 200 billion won (about 20.522 billion yen) in January and February.
If the service continues to perform well, it is expected to reach 1 trillion won (approximately 102.61 billion yen) in sales by 2025.
The service provides AI-based diagnostic services and expert care for expensive home appliances.
The most commonly purchased home appliances through AI subscription clubs are refrigerators, accounting for 30% of the total. As they are expensive, consumers are looking to reduce their financial burden.
In February, about half of the customers who purchased the company's luxury TVs used the subscription service.
The proportion of TV purchases was in the 20% range, but increased to the 50% range in February 2025. Smartphones are also one of the most purchased items.
60% of the subscribers to the "Home Appliances Division" are in their 20s and 30s, making it popular among young customers. In relation to this, Samsung Electronics has announced that it will develop a new home appliances and mobile app to expand its AI-based home appliances and subscription services.
The company has decided that more than 90% of its mobile equipment will be AI products.
