”KATSEYE” Lara comes out as gay... ”I'm not ashamed”

Lara, a member of HYBE's global girl group KATSEYE, has confessed her gender identity.
On the 24th, Lala revealed on the fandom platform Weverse that she is gay.
"It can be scary (to come out). What's more, I'm a person of color, so there are barriers to overcome and I was scared," she said, "But now that I've come out, I'm proud of myself."
"I'm grateful to the many people who share my life with me and to my fans for their support," Lara said, confidently revealing, "My gender identity is a part of me. I'm not ashamed of it at all."
. Lala's group, KATSEYE, is a global group created jointly by HYBE and Geffen Records. They will be appearing on the audition program "The Debut:
The group was formed through the "Dream Academy" and made its official debut in June last year. The members are Indian-American Lara, Daniella, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoon.
The group is made up of six members, including Choi. "KATSEYE" is the first member of the group to release their debut EP "SIS" (Soft Is) in August last year.
Strong's title song "Touch" has gained huge popularity in the global music market beyond the US.
With its addictive melody and point dance, the group has sparked a challenge boom on the short-form platform, and has been featured on Spoti, the world's largest music streaming platform.
The album has continued to grow steadily, with the cumulative number of views exceeding 100 million on FY. With this popularity, "KATSEYE" was selected as one of the "must-watch songs of the year" by the British music magazine NME.
"KATSEYE" was selected as one of the "Artists to Watch" at the American Music Awards, which will be held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, USA from July 31st (local time) to August 3rd this year.
The band was named to the lineup of Lollapalooza, the largest music festival in the country. The stage of Lollapalooza has a history of over 30 years.
So far, world-famous artists such as Paul McCartney, Metallica, and Coldplay have performed on the album. KATSEYE is a newcomer who debuted less than a year ago.
Despite being a group, they proudly made it onto this year's performers list.
