”A fight with no chance of winning” for ”NewJeans”, fans divided... Conflict deepens over ”ADOR return” ruling

With the Korean girl group NewJeans challenging the court's decision that they must return to HYBE-owned label ADOR, there is a division among fans over the choice, and the atmosphere of conflict is becoming even deeper.

　On the 27th (today), there was a demonstration truck sent by some Bunnies (the name of NewJeans fans) in front of HYBE's company building in Seoul. They said, “A fight with no chance of winning. Astronomical penalties, damages for penalties and continuing lawsuits, get a grip“, "Team Bunnies is not the opinion of the entire fandom, we need to have a dialogue with ADOR", "Bunnies respects ’NewJeans', but we cannot leave them alone to choose to go down a dangerous path”, and other arguments. .

　On the 21st of this month, ADOR's application for a preliminary injunction to “preserve the status of the planning company and prohibit the conclusion of advertising contracts, etc.” filed against the five members of NewJeans was cited.

　The trial court's decision meant that NewJeans could no longer perform as NJZ, and in response, the members declared a provisional suspension of their activities, meaning that they would not return to ADOR. However, the ADOR side stated, “We regret very much that they unilaterally declared the activity suspension."

　The NewJeans side also filed an objection to the court's decision. On the 26th, their fans, known as Team Bunnies, stated that they “support the members‘ intention that the ’NJZ' fan Bunnies will be with the members until the end and cannot be with HYBE and ADOR."

　However, the choice of NewJeans was met with a wave of concern. The court ruled that it was difficult to believe that the relationship of trust had been broken, and therefore, the lawsuit was not favorable to the NewJeans.

　If the legal battle is prolonged, it is expected to take at least three years for NewJeans to suspend their activities, and those who disagree with Team Bunnies are beginning to speak out, causing a split in the “return to ADOR” of NewJeans. The situation is such that the minimum period of interruption of Team Bunnies activities is expected to be three years.
