Woman in her 30s who posted malicious online comments about actress Han Ji Min faces indictment without detention

A woman in her 30s who created a malicious online posting against Korean actress Han Ji-min (43) has been handed over to prosecutors.

The Seoul Kangnam Police Station announced on March 28th that it has charged A, a woman in her 30s, with insult and threat at home with prosecutors.

A allegedly posted 19 texts on her SNS from September to October last year, including “Interfere with the movie Han Ji-min is in” and “Shut your mouth.” A was also found to have tagged Han Ji-min and her acquaintances in these posts.

Han Ji-min's agency, BH Entertainment, filed a complaint last October, and the police requested cooperation from a U.S.-based SNS operator to identify A.

BH Entertainment issued a complaint and warned, “We will continue to take sustained and strong legal action against the defamation and insults openly made against Han Ji-min on various SNS, online communities, fan sites, and portal sites."
