On the 31st (today), the Korean Red Cross announced that V has sent a message to the victims of the recent large-scale forest fires and the firefighters who are working hard at the scene.
Of the donation, 100 million won (approximately 10 million yen) will go to Sancheong County, Gyeongnam, and Uiso County, Gyeongbuk.
The remaining 100 million won will be used for emergency relief and recovery efforts for victims living in the fire-hit areas of Uiseong, Ulsan, and Ulju.
The donations will be used to support the recovery and improved treatment of firefighters who are working hard to save lives and fight against the pressure of the times.
I would like to express my deepest respect to all the firefighters, rescue workers and volunteers who are working hard every day in the military," he said. "When I was serving in the military, I would watch the news during evening roll call and it made me feel very calm.
I was even more worried when I thought that some of my friends' families had experienced the damage. Fortunately, the wildfires have been mostly contained, but I hope that there will be no more loss of life.
"I hope my donation will be of some help, even if it's just a little bit," he said. Kim Cheol-soo, chairman of the Korean Red Cross, said, "I'm deeply grateful for this important donation to protect the safety and lives of our people."
"We will use the donations responsibly so that they can provide real support to victims and firefighters," he said.
