Asia's first cargo hub airport surpasses 10,000 border-bound cargo flights: Chinese report
Ezhou Huahu International Airport, Asia's first cargo-only hub airport in Ezhou City, Hubei Province, China, is celebrating the second anniversary of the opening of an international cargo route (April 1, 2023 to April 2025).
During the same period, the number of international cargo flights at the airport reached a total of 10,953, and the volume of imported and exported cargo and mail reached 387,100 tons, according to Wuhan Customs.
There are 42 cargo transport routes in Europe, the United States, Asia, Africa and countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, connecting 28 countries and regions.
Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year (January to March), the airport saw 2,943 inbound and outbound cargo flights, 1,011 inbound and outbound cargo and mail flights, and 1,011 inbound and outbound cargo and mail flights.
The volume reached 105,600,000 tons, more than five times higher than the same period last year.
