South Korean ruling party lawmaker: ”Early presidential elections, only I can defeat Lee Jae-myung”

On the 3rd, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the ruling People Power Party, said, "If early presidential elections are held, I am the only one who can defeat Lee Jae-myung, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea."
In an interview with a Korean radio program on the same day, Rep. Ahn said, "If you want to beat Lee, you need to be centrist, and secondly, if you have no moral issues, you can make a clear difference."
Ahn cited a poll conducted by the polling organization Gallup Korea on January 23-24 to assert his centrist expansionism.
In the hypothetical contest between Lee and Ahn in this poll, those in their 20s and under got 43% Ahn and 37% Lee, while those in their 30s got 50% Ahn.
Regarding this, Rep. Ahn said, "I had a one-on-one virtual match with Rep. Lee, and among the ruling party candidates, I won by the largest margin of votes."
"If one candidate is selected, the candidate who can get even one moderate vote will win. I can confidently say that I am the most competitive candidate."
