BTS' V becomes the most searched K-pop star on Google

V (BTS) shined with his global popularity by becoming the “Most Searched K-Pop Star on Google” in the first quarter of 2025.

　According to Google Trends, V had the highest search volume among K-Pop artists from January to March 2025. Google Trend, an objective popularity indicator, is also used for presidential elections based on big data.

　V has recorded the most number one searches in 71 of the 79 countries for which Google Trends is compiled, the majority of which are the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, with the exception of parts of the Middle East and Central Asia.

　From June 13th, 2013, the date of BTS' debut, to April 8th, 2025, V has been the most searched star on Google, proving his presence as a leading K-pop star. The highest volume of searches was recorded.

　In 2024, when he did not perform any special activities due to his military service, he ranked as the fourth most searched male pop star worldwide, behind Drake, Eminem, and Justin Bieber, demonstrating his extraordinary popularity and star power.

　He ranked 12th among male and female pop stars born in the 1990s, the highest ranking for a K-pop star, and also made the list of most searched pop stars worldwide, along with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and Billy Irish.

　V's star power can also be seen on Wikipedia, one of the main popularity indicators along with Google Trends, where V ranked 7th on Wikipedia's list of “Most Searched Male Pop Stars Worldwide in 2024” and was the #1 K-Pop solo artist. In April 2022, he became the first K-pop star to surpass 10 million cumulative page views in English-speaking countries, and on May 14th, 2024, he recorded 20 million page views, proving his high buzz, especially in English-speaking countries.

　V's current number of Instagram followers is 66.97 million, surpassing 60 million followers in one year and six months since the Instagram account was opened. This is the record for the shortest period of time in the entire world; the shortest time for a conventional K-pop star to achieve 60 million followers on Instagram is 3 years and 4 months.

　V has recorded the highest ranking for an Asian star on Google, Wikipedia, and Instagram, which are included in the “Top 5” website rankings worldwide (all industries), and has attracted the most attention among K-pop stars, proving his buzz and star power.
