Former President Yoon Seok-yeol to leave the official residence tomorrow afternoon... Moving to his private residence in Seocho-dong (South Korea)
Former President Yoon Seok-yeol will move from his official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul to his private residence in Seocho-dong at 5 p.m. on the 11th.
A source close to former President Yoon said on the 10th, "Former President Yoon will leave the official residence at 5 p.m. tomorrow and move to his private residence."
The official said, "The presidential aides, who are senior secretaries or above, will visit the official residence at the same time as former President Yoon leaves. They may issue a separate message or get off the vehicle to greet him."
The presidential guard service has reportedly completed the formation of a 40-person private residence guard team. Former President Yoon will be under guard duty for up to 10 years under the Presidential Security Law.
The Presidential Security Service will be able to provide security for Yoon until his inauguration. The Seocho-dong residence is where Yoon lived for about six months after he was inaugurated in May 2022, so there will be no major problems with security.
However, since the private residence is not a single-family home but a residential and commercial complex, it is likely to cause inconvenience to those living in the same building, and since the former president and his wife have many pets, it is likely that they will be unable to live alone.
The couple will reportedly first move to a private residence in Seocho-dong before looking for other housing in the capital area. They are reportedly planning to take along all 11 of their pet dogs and cats that they kept at the official residence.
