Former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung receives highest approval rating for future political leaders: South Korean public opinion poll
Lee Jae-myung, former chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, achieved the highest approval rating ever in a regular survey by Gallup Korea, ranking first in the 'future political leader preference'.
Non-Lee Jae-myung candidates competing for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination did not receive even 1% support, and their names did not even appear in the survey results.
According to the political world, as of the morning of the 13th, four candidates from the Democratic Party of Korea have officially declared their candidacy for the 21st presidential election.
Former lawmaker Kim Doo-kwan made his presidential candidacy official on the 7th, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon on the 9th, and former Chairman Lee on the 10th.
The governor of South Gyeongsang Province announced his candidacy on the 13th. Among them, a survey conducted by Gallup Korea on 1,005 people aged 18 or older nationwide from the 8th to the 10th of this month showed that
The only person to feature in the 'Preferences for Future Political Leaders' (April 2week's) survey was Lee, who ranked first with 37%. This was the highest figure ever recorded in the 3week's survey in December last year.
This is the same as the previous survey (April 1 week's) and is 3 percentage points higher than the previous survey (34%). Among the Democratic Party supporters (410 people), former Chairman Lee has 81% support.
Apart from Lee, no other Democratic Party candidates were included in the survey results. The Gallup Korea survey on future political leader preferences did not provide the names of candidates,
The survey is conducted by having the voters record and tally the responses of those who answered themselves (subjective). The names of those who receive a response rate of less than 1% are not included in the results.
Following Lee, former Employment and Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo received 9%, Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo received 5%, and Han
Former People's Power Party leader Dong-hoon was tallying at 4%. New Reform Party presidential candidate Lee Jun-seok, acting president and prime minister Han Deok-soo,
Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun and People's Power Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo were both tied at 2%, while former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon and former Rep. Yoo Seung-min were both tied at 2%.
4% of respondents named others (less than 1%, including about 20 people), and 30% did not mention anyone in particular.
According to Gallup Korea, since October 2021, there has been only one person who has recorded a preference rating of 1% or more at least once in a survey of future political leaders.
To date, among those who have declared their candidacy for the 21st presidential election from the Democratic Party, only Governor Kim Dong-yeon, excluding former Chairman Lee, has received more than 1% of the vote.
However, Governor Kim has not been mentioned since receiving 1% in the February 2-week survey.
The survey was conducted in June 2022 (4%). The Gallup Korea survey cited in the article was conducted by telephone interviewers randomly selecting virtual wireless phone numbers provided by the three mobile communication companies.
This was carried out using the view method.
