Number of foreigners entering China peaks as Guangzhou Fair opens - Chinese media

In Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, where the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) will be held from April 15, the number of entrants and cargo volume at immigration and border inspection points are reaching their peak.
According to statistics from the city's General Administration of Entry-Exit Border Inspection, the average number of people entering and leaving Guangzhou Port (customs port) per day since April has reached nearly 50,000, up 21.7% from the same period last year.
The number of foreign visitors to Japan also increased by 34.68% year on year. In particular, the number of foreign visitors on business and trade visas increased by 50.67% year on year.
During the Canton Fair period (April 15 to May 5), the average number of people entering and leaving China per day exceeded 51,000.
According to Guangzhou Customs, the number of passenger and cargo flights that arrived at the Guangzhou port since April was 1,950, up about 22% year-on-year. The volume of air imported cargo increased 2% year-on-year to 6,000 tons.
