China's postal delivery volume up 18.1% year-on-year in March: Chinese report

According to the State Post Administration, the postal industry delivered 18.27 billion items in March, up 18.1% from the same month last year. Of these, parcel delivery volume increased 20.3% to 16.66 billion items.
In the same month, the postal industry's operating revenue increased 7.8% to 152.52 billion former (approximately 3 trillion yen). Of this, the income from home delivery increased 10.4% to 124.6 billion former (approximately 2.5 trillion yen).
Meanwhile, the volume of postal deliveries in the first quarter (January to March) totaled 49.64 billion items, up 19.0% from the same period last year. Of this, the volume of home delivery deliveries increased 21.6% to a cumulative total of 49.64 billion items.
The total amount of business revenues in the first quarter (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal Savings Bank) was 424.4 billion yen (approximately 8.3 trillion yen), up 7.6% year on year.
Operating revenue increased 10.9% to a total of 345.64 billion yen (approximately 6.7 trillion yen).
