The "NewJeans" members filed an objection to the court on the same day that the provisional injunction was granted, but the court dismissed the request on the same day.
The legal dispute between NewJeans and ADOR is likely to go to a second trial. Since NewJeans' challenge was rejected, it can appeal to the High Court.
In this case, a new ruling is expected to be made at the second instance. Separately, the first instance lawsuit filed by ADOR against the "NewJeans" members to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract is currently underway.
NewJeans and management office ADOR began a full-scale exclusive contract dispute on the 3rd of this month. The five members filed a lawsuit in November last year, stating that their relationship of trust had been broken due to breach of obligations and other reasons.
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit in the Seoul Central District Court in December seeking confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract.
Last month, the court granted provisional injunction to ADOR against five members of "NewJeans" for "preserving the agency's status and prohibiting the signing of advertising contracts."
The court ruled that "ADOR has fulfilled most of its important obligations under the exclusive contract with NewJeans. The relationship of trust has been broken.
