Fourth-dan player Nakamura Sumire achieves 100 wins in just one year and one month since moving to Korea!
Nakamura Sumire, 4th dan, recorded her 100th victory since moving to Korea. On the 16th, Nakamura won the 13th Korea Professional Go Players Association League Group 3 at the Korea Go Association Grand Hall in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Sumire 4-dan defeated Kim Bum 5-dan and achieved her 100th victory. In March 2024, Sumire Nakamura 4-dan, who transferred to the Korea Go Association, played her first official match on March 3 of the same year, and has been playing for about a year and a month.
During the same period, Nakamura Sumire 4-dan made it to the Official Ki Tournament finals three times, the Women's Kisei Tournament and the Women's National Championship Tournament, but she only managed to come in second in each tournament, which left her feeling disappointed.
According to unofficial records, in June 2024, she won the 7th International Go Haruka Selection Tournament, defeating Oh Yujin, who was ranked 4th in the women's rankings at the time, and won the tournament just three months after transferring to the team.
Her ranking has also risen significantly. She started out at 16th in the women's ranking and 217th overall (as of April 2024), and is now 6th in the women's ranking and 217th overall.
