Candidate Lee Jae-myung wins first primary election in Chungcheong Province with 88.15% of the votes

Lee Jae-myung, the leading candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, also won a landslide victory in the primary election in Chungcheong region on the 19th, with 88.15% of the votes.
The party announced the results of the Chungcheong region primary election for the 21st presidential candidate selection on the same day. The votes of the party's right-wing members and national delegates were combined.
According to the results, Lee Jae-myung came in first with 88.15% (57,057 votes), followed by Kim Dong-yeon with 7.54% (4,883 votes), and Kim Kyung-soo.
In third place was Lee Jae-myung with 4.31% (2,790 votes). Looking only at the votes of Right Party members, candidate Lee Jae-myung came in first with 88.16% (55,948 votes).
Candidates Kim Kyung-soo and Lee Jae-myung received 7.53% (4,776 votes) and 4.31% (2,736 votes), respectively. In the national delegate voting results, candidate Lee Jae-myung came in first with 87.32% (1,109 votes).
In second place was Kim Dong-yeon with 8.43% (107 voters), and in third place was Kim Kyung-soo with 4.25% (54 voters). The total voter turnout in Chungcheong-do was 57.87% (64,730 voters).
The turnout rate for Right Party members was 57.62% (63,460 voters), and the turnout rate for national delegates was 73.33% (1,270 voters).
The party will hold a presidential election in the Yeongnam district (Ulsan, Ulsan) on the 20th and in the Honam district (Gwangju) on the 26th.
On the 27th, four primaries will be held in the capital area, Gwangju, Seoul, Gangwon, Jeju, etc. On the final day, the 27th, 50% of the votes from Right Party members and 50% of the votes from the public opinion polls will be counted.
The final candidate will be determined by adding up the votes. If a candidate receives a majority of the votes from party members and the National Electoral College, he or she will be selected as the party's presidential candidate on the 27th. If no one receives a majority of the votes,
Runoff elections will be held on the 29th and 30th, with the candidate selected on May 1st.
