The fourth reconnaissance satellite was launched last month from Incheon International Airport in South Korea at Cape Canaveral, and is scheduled to be launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida, the United States.
It was transported to the Ral Space Force Base, where assembly began on the 13th of last month, with the final pre-launch rehearsal completed on the 16th, and a final launch preparation review meeting will be held on the 21st.
The satellite being launched this time is the fourth for detecting signs of North Korea's nuclear and missile provocations and monitoring strategic targets in deep areas.
"Following the fourth satellite, we plan to launch all of our military reconnaissance satellites by the end of the year," said Seok Jong-gon, head of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and director of the launch management team. "Once we launch the microsatellites we are currently developing, our military will have its own unique satellites."
"We will be able to develop a space strategy and make a leap forward to become a powerful national space force."
