China's industrial capacity utilization rate at 74.1% in first quarter: Chinese report

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the production capacity utilization rate of industrial enterprises with a national scale or larger (enterprises with annual main operating revenue of 20 million yen or more) in the first quarter of this year (January to March) was 7.
4.1%, up 0.5 percentage points from the same period last year. Looking at the three major sectors, the mining industry's production capacity utilization rate fell 0.4 percentage points to 74.6%, while the manufacturing industry's production capacity utilization rate increased 0.3 percentage points to 74.
The production and supply of electricity, thermal energy, gas and water increased by 2.4 percentage points to 73.6%. The production capacity utilization rate by major industry was 71.9% for coal mining, coal washing and preparation, 72.4% for food manufacturing, 73.6% for food processing and other industries, up 2.4 percentage points from the previous year.
