The factory, located in Almaty Oblast, has a total floor area of 52,000 square meters and is equipped with three types of production equipment.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 4.5 billion bottles and is expected to become a core export base to meet demand from the growing European and Eurasian markets, including the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
With the construction of the new Almaty plant, KT&G will establish a production system that will span from Korea to Indonesia, Russia and Kazakhstan.
The company will also invest in factories to expand its business overseas, and plans to build a self-contained local value chain that will directly manage everything from production to sales and distribution, with overseas bases at its core.
In addition, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the "Green Globe Project," which supports the creation of forests in the area.
Through this project, the government plans to support the recovery from the damage caused by the forest fires that occurred in Abai Province in June 2023. The support will be provided by the Ministry of Environment, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, the Asia Forest Cooperation Organization (AFCAO), and the Ministry of Environment, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan.
According to KT&G, this initiative will be the first time a private company has participated in a forest fire recovery project in the country.
