Nasdaq has submitted a report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Virtual Asset Task Force (TF) on
"A clear classification of digital assets is the core of the regulation," Nasdaq said. The company must classify virtual currencies into financial securities, digital asset investment contracts, digital asset products, and other digital assets.
Nasdaq explained that clarifying the classification would be helpful in determining which regulatory body should be in charge, and that regulators should be able to market virtual currency investment contracts, products and other items on a single platform.
They have to be allowed to cross trade like they trade.”
