Kim Jae Joong: ”My visual is shocking, but I don't think I'm good looking”

Singer Kim Jae Joong draws attention by mentioning his past that he did not think he was good-looking.

On SBS's 'Dolsing Fourmen' which aired at 9 p.m. on the 29th, Ham Soo Hyun, Kwedo, and Kim Jae Joong appeared on the show.

During the broadcast, Lee Sang-min told Jaejoong that the term 'visual shock' was coined thanks to Kim Kim Jae Joong, “because of his shockingly good-looking visuals when he debuted.”

Lee Sang-min then asked Jaejoong if he thought his face was born to be an idol himself. Kim Jae Joong was perplexed, and Lee Sang-min asked, “What do you think of his visual anyway?

In response, Jaejoong said, “When I made my debut, there was a ‘Chan (meaning best) Festival’” and “I applied for the ‘singing chan’ but was accepted for the 'visual chan. Jaejoong also revealed, “I actually never thought of myself as good-looking,” and that he “wasn't very confident."

Kim Jae Joong said, “However, after my debut, the term ‘visual shock’ made me think, ‘My face is shocking because of my unique style,’ and I thought that was what they meant by shocking."

Lee Sang-min said, “I'm sure you are a popular world star in Japan,” and that he still goes to Japan several times a month. Kim Jae Joong answered, “I think it's because I've been in Japan for a long time,” and when asked if his Japanese was good, he shyly replied that it was.

Kim Jae Joong also surprised the audience by revealing that even though he is already 39 years old, his niece had a baby and he became the first idol to become a grandfather. Kim Jae Joong is the youngest of nine siblings and has eight older sisters.
