Group '(G)I-DLE' turns a new page as “i-dle”.

On May 1st, 'i-dle' announced their group name change from '(G)I-DLE' to 'i-dle' through their official SNS channel. Celebrating the 7th anniversary of their debut, 'i-dle' will change their group name to “i-dle” on May 2, 2018.

'i-dle' has removed the ‘G’ for ‘girl’ from the group name, which had previously been ‘(G)I-dle’. Through this, 'i-dle' re-establishes a group identity that cannot be defined as “female” or any “gender.” At the same time, the group has eliminated the parentheses, which are symbols used to distinguish or emphasize one part of the group from another, and is expected to showcase a music and concept that has no boundaries.

Along with this, a new logo and symbol for 'i-dle' were also unveiled. The logo, consisting of the lowercase letter “i d l e,” is a structural design that utilizes the principles of point, line, and plane, with the circle-shaped point being extended to symbolize the infinite possibilities and organic connection of 'i-dle'. In particular, the symbol of five i's coming together to form a star signifies the coming together of the five members of 'i-dle', each with their own unique personality, to be reborn as one integrated 'i-dle'.

The members of 'i-dle', who all re-signed with CUBE Entertainment last December, announced that their bold rebranding would not be a simple change of group name, but a leap to even greater heights. The 'i-dle' group will soon meet their fans with the solid teamwork and expanded musicality of the 'i-dle' group itself.
