On the 1st, South Korea's largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, announced that the Supreme Court had found him guilty in a Public Offices Election Act case, overturning the acquittal of the second trial and revoking the trial.
Regarding the decision to send the case back to the Seoul High Court, Lee said, "Law is also a matter of public agreement, and the people's thoughts are the most important thing." Candidate Lee told the reporters, "My thoughts are different from the Supreme Court's decision.
Regarding the calls from the ruling party, the People Power Party, and others for Lee to withdraw as a candidate, Lee said, "It's the position of my political competitors.
"People may have all sorts of ideas and expectations, but politics is ultimately something the people do. We should follow the will of the people," he said.
Meanwhile, candidate Lee also said through Fei Book that "it is politics that decides the lives of the people.
"It is not something that the government or the judiciary should do, but ultimately it is something that the people should do," he said, emphasizing, "I will continue to place my trust in the people and move forward with confidence."
