韓国の「こども人口」が500余万人に…史上「最低値」
South Korea's child population reaches 5 million, the lowest in history
Last month, the number of "children" under the age of 14 in South Korea hit its lowest level since statistics were released. According to the resident registration population statistics of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the number of children (0-14 years old) in South Korea as of April this year was 100,000.
The number of children in South Korea was 5,392,237 in 2008, when statistics began to be released, and the number of children in Korea was 8,518,000 in 2015, and 7,061,000 in 2016.
The population is expected to continue to decline, reaching 6,307,000 in 2008 and 5,464,000 in 2024. In terms of the percentage of the total population, the child population will decline from 17.2% in 2008 to 2,307,000 by April this year.
In 2013, the figure had fallen to 10.5%.
