A total of 1.467 billion people traveled across regions during China's Labor Day holiday - Chinese reports

According to the Ministry of Transport, the total number of people who traveled across regions during the Labor Day holiday period (May 1 to 5) was estimated to be 1.467 billion, an 8% increase from the same period last year.
By transportation mode, the number of rail users increased by 10.8%, road users increased by 7.6%, waterway users increased by 24.9%, and civil aviation users increased by 11.8%.
In addition, the convenience of immigration has been continuously improved through visa exemption measures, and the average number of passengers per day at immigration and border inspection points nationwide during the Labor Day holiday period increased by 10,000.
The total number of people entering and leaving the country is expected to reach 2.15 million.
