KBS 2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama, 'The First Night With the Duke', is a romance fantasy in which a young college girl, who is the soul of a romance novel, spends a night with the novel's male lead.
Actors Seo-hyun (Girls' Generation: Cha Sung-chek) and Ok Taecyeon (2PM: Lee Bong), Lee Eun-hee, director Kang Soo-young, and writer Jeong Soo-young gathered at the scenario reading on the day to catch their breath.
First, Seo-hyun expressed in a lighthearted tone the setting in which K, a college girl in the modern world, inhabits the character of Cha Sung-chaek, a minor character in a romance novel from the Joseon Dynasty. She infused the dialogue with dynamism by adding simple hand movements and gestures to the amusing and youthful behavior of a college girl who has gone to a strange era.
Taecyeon as Lee Bong of Kyungsung, who had the air of a very cold-blooded male protagonist with perfect specs, drew the audience's attention with his calm demeanor and steely eyes. Especially in the scene where he faces So-hyun, he expressed the opposite charm of this character with his gentle gaze relative to his indifferent tone of voice.
After the scenario reading, Seohyun expressed his affection for the scene, saying, “Every moment is filled with very funny scenes,” as “it's really just so funny." Taecyeon also shared the highlights of the drama, saying, “The story that is being revealed and the relationships between the characters are very interesting,” further increasing the interest in the drama.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' will air on June 11th at 9:50 p.m. in Korea.
