”Why do they bully me?” Paik Jong-won expresses dissatisfaction in front of the PD who brought up his power harassment allegations

Paik Jong-won, a cooking expert and head of “The Born Korea,” met in person with producer (PD) Kim Jae-hwan from MBC, who himself exposed allegations of power harassment and other problems with the show.

　According to a video released by the YouTube channel “Studio Jaehna” on the 8th, PD Kim Jae-hwan faced Paik Jong-won at the airport as he was returning from France after finishing filming “President Paik's Adversary Diner 3”. Paik Jong-won turned to Kim PD and asked, "Why are you picking on me like this? Director, do you have some kind of bad relationship with me? What's wrong with you?" He showed his sadness, saying, "I liked ‘True Macho’ so much."

　Paik Jong-won continued, "I have a lot of regrets too. But I think I'll just sit tight.“ PD asked, ”How frustrated are the store owners?“ and Paik Jong-won replied, ”The store owners are very frustrated. The PD asked, “How frustrated are the shopkeepers?” and the PD retorted, “Why are you talking about them?” PD asked again, "How frustrated are the shopkeepers?"

　The PD again asked, “Isn't this the problem with ‘Alley Restaurant’ and the like, where you harshly make bad guys out of everyone with hygiene and such?” Paik Jong-won replied, "You can't talk like that. You can't talk like that. I have never been cruel to the presidents of 'Alley Restaurant' in a human way. I have clearly stated that what was wrong was wrong..." He expressed his regret.

　Kim also included some of Paik Jong-won 's voice in the recorder that he had brought with him beforehand. Paik Jong-won said, “I've really lived up to the truth until now,” and added, "This is just for your reference only. Mr. Director, please give me your phone number. Tomorrow is fine. Instead, no camera.“; ”Mr. Director, do you ever get freaked out?" and, "Let's meet tomorrow. Let's meet tomorrow, just the two of us, without cameras," he demanded.

　True to his word, PD Kim said that he and Paik Jong-won had a long, four-and-a-half-hour, one-on-one conversation. He said, "There were parts where we had different ideas, and there were parts where we talked about our thoughts and clashed with each other. And the parts I misunderstood a little, [Paik Jong-won] tried to clarify, and I listened. I have to reflect that," he said, adding that additional footage would be released on the 12th.

　In other partially released edited footage, Paik Jong-won denied that the power harassment on the show was true, saying, “I cut who and how,” and "I still meet with store owners and go to develop new menu items. He also asked, “Why are you speaking in such extreme terms?” And, "Not at all. Were you using pesticides? We bought new ones..." He repeatedly expressed his disappointment.

　Kim PD was the one who had been making various allegations against Paik Jong-won even before the recent problems with him. In particular, he once claimed that Paik Jong-won had made unreasonable demands on the broadcaster, and made such claims as, “Put in a team of writers and a filming team that I appoint,” and "Anyone that representative Paik Jong-won did not like was dropped from the program.
