Professor Seok of Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology receives Humboldt Prize for research on perovskite solar cells - Korean media
Professor Seok Sang-il of the Department of Energy Science and Engineering at the Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) has been awarded the Humboldt Research Award.
The Humboldt Prize is awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to outstanding researchers internationally.
This award is given to scholars who have produced outstanding research results. Professor Seok is conducting pioneering research in the field of thin and flexible "perovskite solar cells."
Professor Seok has published more than 10 papers in the British science journal Nature and the American science journal Science.
The standard for the number of citations of research papers is the "Highly Cited Authors" selected by the US research company Clarivate Analytics. Professor Nakano has been on the list for six consecutive years since 2018.
Professor Seok and other professors at UNIST have founded a company called Frontier Energy Solutions, which is focused on commercializing perovskite solar cells.
Regarding the award, Professor Seok said, "Thanks to the Humboldt Prize, I have been invited to Friedrich-Alexander University in Germany. I plan to visit the university and continue my research."
He stated.
