The handover ceremony for the electric buses was held on the 11th. The handover ceremony marks the culmination of the Korea-Paraguay industrial and trade cooperation development support project that the institute has been carrying out since fiscal 2022.
The project aims to transform Paraguay's public transport system into a sustainable direction by using electric buses, and to address air and noise pollution in urban areas through the proliferation of electric vehicles and infrastructure.
After the five Korean eco-friendly electric buses arrive in Paraguay, the two countries will work closely together to install chargers and develop charging infrastructure, among other things, to operate the buses.
With all preparations completed, the plan is to conduct a test run before fully operating the electric buses. In particular, based on the results of this project and the close and friendly relationship between the two countries, the two countries will work together to develop a public transportation system in Paraguay.
"The electric bus handover ceremony marks the fruition of the Korea-Paraguay cooperation project," said Jin Jeong-wook, president of the institute, in his congratulatory speech.
We are pleased to be hosting this event and would like to express our gratitude to the Paraguayan government and related parties for their active support and cooperation in making this possible. "We hope that the successful operation and expansion of electric buses will help to promote the development of Paraguay," he said.
"We will do our best to build an electric transportation system infrastructure and an eco-friendly transportation ecosystem in Guayna."
