Yoon Sang Hyun, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, said on the 13th that members of a group of supporters of former Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo, who left the People Power Party, had filed suit against Lee Jae-myung.

On the same day, Councilman Yoon posted on Feibook, "Former Mayor Hong, please stop them."
Yoon wrote, "People who call themselves conservatives are now saying they will support Lee Jae-myung, an 'Itler' candidate who is trying to destroy the liberal democracy of the Republic of Korea. Former Mayor Hong, this is you.
"Is this the unified country where conservatives and progressives coexist that we all dreamed of?" he added. "I understand the betrayal and anger toward the party, but now is not the time to vent personal anger, but to protect the free Republic of Korea.
Yoon said of former Mayor Hong, "This is not the time to be enjoying leisure time in Hawaii. The people who trusted and followed former Mayor Hong have finally found freedom after a period of anger and confusion.
"They are colluding with the forces that are trying to destroy the democratic system. Are you really going to ignore this dire reality?" he said. "I want you to make it clear even now. 'That path will never come.
"Conservatism will never collapse like this. We will defend the free Republic of Korea to the very end," he said.
He also said, "Now is the time to show true patriotism through action."
Prior to this, members of groups supporting former Mayor Hong, such as Hong Sam-mo, Hong Sa-rang, and National Unified Jin Hong, held a joint democratic meeting on the same day.
At a press conference held at the party headquarters, he declared his support for candidate Lee, saying, "The People's Power Party is not conservative, even in common sense." In addition, during the People's Power Party's presidential primary election, he spoke at the camp of former Mayor Hong about economic policy.
Lee Byung-tae, a former KAIST professor who was in charge of the election, also announced on Feibook the day before that he would be joining Lee Jae-myung's camp, but said that the Democratic Party had not yet made a decision.
