During a campaign rally at Kyungbuk University on the same day, Lee told reporters about Kim's "apology for the martial law" the previous day, "I was afraid of the public's opinion and deliberately made the (apology) statement.
Candidate Lee said, "If candidate Kim is going to take up the flag of opposition to martial law and support for impeachment, then his performance in the primary election (which decides the ruling party's nominee) will be a false one.
"He must admit that this is close to deception," he said, emphasizing, "Therefore, he should decline to be the party's official candidate."
Regarding Kim's statement that "it depends on his own will," he said, "This is the essence of candidate Kim's double standards."
It makes no sense for such a candidate, Kim, to represent the conservative camp."
