Dubai has recently been recognized by the International Board for Certification and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) as the first “Certified Autism Tourism Destination(TM)” in the Eastern Hemisphere*. Airlines, hotels, transportation, and tourist facilities are working together to promote an inclusive environment where all people can feel safe and comfortable.
As a continuation of the special project for the summer of 2024, "Dubai, Who's Ready? was released on May 15th. The film features the three, who are close friends in their private lives, touring Dubai as “friends” and rediscovering the city's charms while experiencing a variety of activities such as deserts, resorts, and yoga.
Dubai also offers a wide range of educational facilities for parents and children to learn and enjoy during their summer vacation. From world-class theme parks and water parks to aquariums and hands-on museums, there is a wide range of year-round indoor and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. In addition, this summer, the hotel plans to launch a summer campaign that includes a large-scale sale and lodging specials. ■Dubai has been certified as a “Certified Autism Tourism Destination(TM)”! The first certification in the Eastern Hemisphere!
Dubai has been recognized by the International Board for Certification and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) as the first “Certified Autism Destination(TM)” in the Eastern Hemisphere. Many of Dubai's family-friendly facilities have been certified as Certified Autism Centers(TM) (CAC) with advanced training and the necessary equipment to provide services that cater to people with autism and sensory sensitivities. Dubai International Airport has also been certified as a “Certified Autism Airport(TM)” and Emirates Airline is the first airline in the world to be certified as an “Autism Certified Airline(TM)” (Autism Certified Airline).
The fact that Dubai has been certified as a tourist destination this time is a result of the cooperation of relevant organizations, including the Dubai Economic and Tourism Authority and others in aviation, accommodation, ground transportation, and tourist facilities, and their efforts to improve accessibility and support systems in various fields, such as conducting inclusive training for tourism workers and expanding support systems at facilities, were highly evaluated. The result of these efforts was highly acclaimed. In Dubai, more than 70,000 people have received training to date, and more than 300 hotels have participated in the certification process. These efforts are in line with the policy of the United Arab Emirates, which refers to people with disabilities as “People of Determination” and aims to realize a society where all people are respected. Dubai is steadily advancing the creation of an inclusive city where everyone can enjoy travel with peace of mind.
