Director Min Gyu Dong: ”I'm surprised that Yu A In was nominated for the Director's Cut Award”

Yu A In took propofol and other medications 181 times between September 2020 and March 2022, and was discharged 44 times between May 2021 and August 2022.
He was on trial for illegally receiving prescriptions for sleeping pills under someone else's name.
In an interview, director Min Gyu-dong, president of the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK), explained the voting system for the Director's Cut Awards.
The director said, "The voting system is similar to that of the Academy Awards. It's one person, one vote. It's because the latest films have a big influence.
"I think so. However, we can't manipulate the results of the votes, so we announced them as they were," he said. "I wonder if the directors who run the awards and the members think so too."
"We'll just have to wait and see what the results are," he added. "There's no selection committee, so the results are decided by votes alone. Robert Pattinson was nominated.
The results of the vote are also a result of the unconscious thoughts of many directors. A wide variety of directors, from short films, independent films, to blockbuster films, take part in the voting.
"As a representative of the film industry, I think the answer is no, but I think it's a result of various opinions being reflected," he emphasized. The film "Bagga," directed by Min Gyu-dong, is currently being shown in Korean cinemas.
