The results of a public opinion poll conducted by the South Korean polling agency Realmeter on the 14th to 16th of last month among 1,509 voters aged 18 and over, showed that the majority of voters in the presidential election were in favor of the candidates.
The survey results showed that Lee received 50.2% of the votes, followed by Kim Moon-soo of the ruling People Power Party with 35.6% and Lee Jun-seok of the New Reform Party with 8.7%.
Other candidates were 1.1%, "no", 3.1%, and "don't know" 1.3%. Also, in the survey on favorability of the ruling party for the next presidential election, 55.6% said they "want a change of government", and 54.2% said they "want an extension of the government".
Meanwhile, in the survey on party approval ratings, the Democratic Party of Japan received 46.4% and the ruling party received 34.2%.
