Polygon co-founder Mihailo Bjelic announced that he will be stepping down from project development and the foundation's board of directors.
According to Block, Bjelker has joined Polygon about two years after co-founders Jaynti Kanani and Anurag Arjun stepped down from their roles at the network.
The Polygon team has made notable contributions to the field of zero-knowledge technology and Ethereum scaling.
In 2017, Bjelic founded Matic, the predecessor to Polygon, along with Kanani, Arjun, and Sandeep Nailwal.
"As projects evolve and mature, visions naturally change and sometimes splinter," he said. "In these situations,
"I have decided that I can no longer contribute to Polygon in the best possible way," he said in his statement. "Nevertheless, Polygon's leadership remains committed to the success of the project.
