China Eastern Airlines celebrates second anniversary of domestically-made large passenger aircraft ”C919” first commercial flight - Chinese media

China Eastern Airlines (hereinafter referred to as Eastern Airlines) has celebrated the second anniversary of the start of commercial operations of its domestically produced large passenger aircraft, the C919.
On May 28, 2023, China Eastern Airlines will begin commercial operation of the C919. On this day, the aircraft departed from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
The airline successfully completed the world's first commercial C919 flight from Beijing to Beijing Capital International Airport. By May 27, 2025, China Eastern Airlines' C919's total flight hours will reach 28,000.
The total number of flights operated by the C919 exceeded 11,400, and the total number of passengers carried by the C919 exceeded 1.57 million.
The operational and technical status of the C919 is normal and it has a proven track record of safe flight.
Indicators such as daily load factor have also been steadily improving, fully verifying the airline's overall operational capabilities. Since the C919 began commercial operation, the number of passengers has been gradually increasing, and the number of flights operated has increased.
The occupancy rate of the aircraft has remained at nearly 80%. Currently, the C919 is used on 14 routes connecting 12 cities across the country, including Shanghai Hongqiao with Chengdu Tianfu and Beijing Daxing.
