Norwegian cryptocurrency broker K33 raises $6.2 million to buy Bitcoin
European cryptocurrency brokerage K33 has stepped up its strategic holdings of Bitcoin, raising a total of $6.2 million, Cointelegraph reported.
K33 plans to use the entire amount of the funds to purchase Bitcoin, and in the long term, it also plans to develop new businesses, including BTC-based lending services.
On the 28th (local time), K33, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, secured funding through the issuance of convertible bonds and new shares and warrants, and said, "All of this funding will be used by Bitcoin Treasury."
"The BTC Treasury Strategy will be used to build the strategy," he said. K33 is currently purchasing up to 57 Bitcoins based on the market price.
K33 CEO Bull Jenssen told X on the same day, "Bitcoin will be the asset with the highest return over the next 10 years."
"We will secure as many Bitcoins as possible to achieve synergy with our intermediation business," he emphasized. He continued, "We are just waiting for the government to start stockpiling Bitcoins.
"There's no reason for us to wait any longer. We just need to prepare it ourselves," he said, adding, "The initial funding has been secured, and we are now ready to move forward in earnest."
K33 announced in its first quarter 2025 performance report today that it is working with other Nordic BTC holding companies.
The company also revealed that it plans to use its Bitcoin holdings to promote BTC-secured lending, new product development, and expansion of partnerships.
