Intelligence has announced that Strategy (formerly Microstrategy) has acquired a private Bitcoin wallet.
Arcam announced on social media that it had "identified 70,816 BTC in additional wallets associated with the strategy."
The equivalent figure is about $7.6 billion. Michael Saylor, co-founder and chairman of Strategy, previously said that the disclosure of wallet addresses "could be a long-term threat."
Arcam responded, "Michael Saylor said he would never reveal his wallet address, so we did it for him."
"The amount identified represents 87.5% of the total Bitcoin held by the strategy," he added.
The total amount of coins held is said to be $54.5 billion. There is no official statement from Strategy regarding whether the wallet in question is actually owned by Strategy.
Arcam’s announcement comes after Michael Siler recently revealed his wallet address at the Bitcoin 2025 (BTC2025) conference in Las Vegas.
This was immediately after he warned against disclosing his wallet addresses. At the time, he said, "If companies that hold bitcoin make all their wallet addresses public, all future transaction histories will be traceable."
"While this may not seem like a problem for the time being, it could pose a security threat in the long term," he said. "Any institutional security analyst would never make such a disclosure."
"I would not recommend it," he said, emphasizing, "If you ask an AI about security-related issues, you'll get 50 pages of problems."
On the other hand, while all blockchain transaction history is public, it is difficult to determine exactly who the owner of a particular wallet is.
Cointelegraph reported that the decision to disclose the details of the transaction remains controversial. In particular, Arcam has previously disclosed information about insiders during the Mantra token crash.
Although they pointed out the wallet and a specific address, Mantra CEO John Mullin directly refuted this, saying it was a “misleading wallet display.”
