Kim Moon-soo calls for ”preventing bulletproof dictatorship” in final speech of South Korean presidential election
On the 2nd, the day before the June 3 South Korean presidential election, Kim Moon-soo, the ruling People Power Party's presidential candidate, said in his final speech at Seoul City Hall Square, "We must stop the dictatorship of the 'bulletproof monster' and
"Tomorrow will be the day when the democracy of the great Republic of Korea will flourish in a grand manner," he said, appealing to voters for their final support.
With the judicial risks posed by presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung in mind, he said, "If I become president, I will make all crimes go unpunished and stop trials, and I will be a monstrous dictatorship, a bulletproof government."
Can we tolerate dictatorship?" Kim also spoke out against candidate Lee and his family, saying, "They are facing five lawsuits, and all of their family members are using the company card for personal purposes.
"We cannot have a family like that, where their children are subjected to gambling and pornographic websites and abuse, become our president," he said.
In particular, candidate Kim has been in a difficult position, with his wife, Seol Nan-young, his daughter, Dong-ju, and his daughter,
He introduced his son-in-law and grandchildren, and said, "We are all in a difficult situation, but shouldn't we build a healthy family?" He added, "We can't bear any more risks, we have legal responsibility, and we can't do anything."
"No one wants a family that is filled with all kinds of abusive language and obscenity," he said. When introducing Mrs. Seol, he mentioned the corporate affairs of candidate Lee's wife, Kim Hye-kyung.
With suspicions of illegal credit card misappropriation in mind, he said, "I did not illegally use the corporate card." When introducing his daughter Dong-ju, he also mentioned the allegations of illegal gambling and online community involvement that have been brought against candidate Lee's son.
He pointed out the affair surrounding his comments at the rally and emphasized that he would not "hurl illegal, obscene, and slanderous comments." He then said, "I will be a president who will build a happy family for us," and added, "I am honest.
Candidate Kim also mentioned economic policies, saying, "For the sake of the Korean economy, I will introduce the 'yellow envelope law' (a bill that limits the claims of companies for damages in the event of a labor union strike)."
"Such things cannot be tolerated," he said. If the law is passed, "all the big companies will leave Korea, and foreign companies will stop investing in Korea," he warned. "If that happens, we will lose all the workers from Korea.
"If you vote correctly, Korea's national defense and security will be strengthened, peace will be maintained, and the economy will function normally under this peace. And many companies will lose their jobs," he said.
"Invest in Korea, create jobs, and young people will be able to work hard with hope," he said. After his speech, Kim was joined by Na Kyung-won and Ahn Cheol-soo.
He bowed deeply on stage along with the election committee chairs Lee Soo, Yang Hyang-ja, and Han Dong-hoon to express his gratitude.
Lee Nak-yeon, the former prime minister of the New Future Democratic Party, who served as prime minister in the previous Moon Jae-in administration,
The party's standing advisors also appeared on stage during candidate Kim's final speech and expressed their support. On the same day, standing advisor Lee, who had previously agreed with candidate Kim on the establishment of a joint government and the amendment of the Seventh Republic Constitution, announced that he would support the Democratic Party of Korea.
I have no choice but to come here because the party has fielded a candidate who has failed to resolve 12 criminal charges, and is trying to destroy the judiciary by amending the law to erase all of them.
"I am taking this opportunity to say, 'Candidate Kim Moon-soo is a man who has lived honestly according to his beliefs, who has not greedily sought power, and who has sincerely carried out his duties from the same perspective as ordinary people.
"I came here to support Kim," he said, explaining his reason for supporting Kim.
